CBP Announces ACE Reports Multi-Modal Manifest Data Universe Transition

On September 15, 2022, in Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS) #53290037, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced the transition of several Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) Reports data universes to the Multi-Modal Manifest data universe “in the near future.” According to the CSMS, “The Multi-Modal Manifest data universe contains a comprehensive set of non-truck manifest data elements and is using an enhanced database system for optimal data retrieval speeds.”

The affected universes that will be retired are:

  • BOL;
  • MMM DM Adhoc;
  • Manifest Equipment;
  • Trade Reporting; and
  • Transactions

Reports using these universes as data sources should be modified to point to the Multi-Modal Manifest universe.
