Mexico Issues Exemption for Textiles and Apparel Imported Under Maquiladora Program

On January 13th, 2024, the Mexican Ministry of Economy issued Communication 400.2025.001, which provides an exemption from increased tariffs to companies importing textiles and apparel under a Maquiladora program.

These goods must comply with specific requirements, such as goods covered under the Regime of Certified Enterprises issued by the Revenue Administration Service. Additionally, companies must provide the customs authorities with full access to the inventory control system known as Annex 24.

This exemption went into effect on the day of publication.
