On March 1, 2021, in a Federal Register Notice, the International Trade Commission (ITC) and the Department of Commerce announced the initiation of the five-year Sunset Review of several antidumping and countervailing duty (AD/CVD) orders including the following:

  • Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) Resin from Canada, Oman, India, and China;
  • Polyethylene Retail Carrier Bags from Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan, and China; and
  • Petroleum Wax Candles from China.

The Department of Commerce and the ITC conduct reviews to determine if the revocation of an AD/CVD order would result in material injury to a domestic company or recurrence of dumping or in recurrence of dumping or subsidies.

According to the notice, “If the Department receives a Notice of Intent to Participate from a member of the domestic industry within 15 days of the date of initiation, the review will continue.”

Details on the AD/CVD orders under review can be found in the Federal Register Notice here:
