CBP Issues Notice on Five-Year Harmonized Schedule Update

On December 17, 2021, in Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS) #50430066, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) issued a notice about the five-year World Customs Organization harmonized tariff schedule update. This update will not take effect on January 1, 2022. According to the CSMS, the update “will be implemented by Presidential Proclamation and published in the Federal Register.” CBP will use the current harmonized tariff schedule in the interim.
