CBP Announces Section 232 Quota Period 3

On June 29, 2021, in Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS) #48632147, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced the third quota period for steel mill articles under Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962 for the 2021 quota year.

Period 3 began on July 1, 2021, at 8:30 am EST. All entries submitted prior to 8:30 am EST were counted in the first opening. Entries were prorated if the totals exceeded the quota limit. Entries submitted prior to July 1, 2021, were not counted towards the opening. The quota period extends through September 30, 2021.

Quota Bulletin QB 21-603 Absolute Quota for Steel Mill Articles: Argentina, Brazil, and South Korea outlines the tariff rates and quantity thresholds.

CBP also reminds the trade that all entries for General Approved Exclusions (GAE) must utilize 9903.80.60. The list of GAEs can be found in the Quota Bulletin.
