CBP Announces American Innovation and Manufacturing Act Webinar

On November 15, 2021, in Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS) #50090573, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced a webinar at 2:00 pm ET on November 18, 2021. The webinar will provide an overview of the American Innovation and Manufacturing (AIM) Act, and it will be held jointly with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). According to the CSMS, the “AIM Act directs EPA to phase down production and consumption of hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) in the United States by 85 percent by 2036.” The phasedown includes new requirements for imports of HFCs beginning January 1, 2022.
