BIS Opens Inclusion Windows for Section 232 Steel and Aluminum

In a Federal Register Notice (FRN) published on September 15, 2025, the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) announced the opening of the Section 232 steel and aluminum tariff inclusions process.

This process, created by the Secretary of Commerce, permits the inclusion of additional derivative steel and aluminum products within the scope of Section 232 duties. Once an application is submitted and accepted, it will be posted and made available for a two-week public comment period.

The inclusions window opened on September 15, 2025, and will close at 11:59 p.m. ET on September 29, 2025. Requests can be submitted to the Defense Industrial Base Programs inbox at DIBPrograms@bis.doc.gov.
