On September 27, 2021, in a notice, the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) announced a temporary extension for the exclusions for certain product descriptions under Section 301. The exclusions are for “certain medical-care products needed to address the COVID-19 pandemic.” The exclusions were scheduled to expire on September 30, 2021, and they have been extended for 45 days until November 14, 2021. USTR had sought comments on these extensions, and the temporary extension is to allow for the review of these comments.
