USTR Modifies 2022 Tariff-Rate Quotas for UK and EU

On July 6, 2021, in a Federal Register Notice, the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative announced the modification of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the U.S. (HTSUS) to adjust allocations of certain tariff-rate quotas (TRQs) in light of the United Kingdom’s (UK) withdrawal from the European Union (EU).

For 2021, the UK was eligible under the EU’s allocated TRQs. The modifications go into effect January 1, 2022.
