USTR Issues Notice on Tariff-Rate Quotas for Certain UK Goods

On February 8, 2021, the Office of the US Trade Representative (USTR) issued a Federal Register Notice (FRN) advising that the goods of the United Kingdom (UK) that are eligible for importation into the US under Tariff-Rate Quotas (TRQs) remain eligible under the TRQs allocated to the member countries of the European Union (EU) for 2021.

The FRN notes that the US “maintains TRQs for imports from specific countries or customs areas, including the EU.” While the Brexit transition ended December 31, 2020, USTR has determined to continue the UK’s eligibility under the EU’s allocation for quota year 2021.
