USTR Announces 6 Month Extension for Certain Section 301 Exclusions, Expires Others

On November 10, 2021, in a notice, the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) announced a six-month extension for 81 of the 99 exclusions for specific product descriptions under Section 301. The exclusions are for “certain medical-care products needed to address the COVID-19 pandemic.” The exclusions were previously extended until November 14, 2021, and will expire on May 31, 2022. USTR also allows a transition period for the 18 exclusions not being extended, which will expire on November 30, 2021.
