In a Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS) bulletin published on March 19, 2024, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) reminded the trade that the filing requirements for the National Organic Program (NOP) have come into effect.

As of March 19, 2024, shipments that contain organic agricultural products imported into the United States must be associated with a NOP import certificate, to be submitted in the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) when filing the entry. The import certificate must be issued by an accredited agent and can be issued for both individual shipments or for multiple shipments in a specific time frame.
