UK Issues Export Control Transition Guidance

On December 11, 2020, the Government of the United Kingdom (UK) issued guidance on export controls as the transition away from European Union (EU) export control law nears finality. The transition ends on December 31, 2020 at 11 p.m. UK time; the online export licensing system SPIRE will be unavailable on that date as system updates are made. The guidance communicates a number of actions that those with pending license applications should take to ensure the issuance of the correct license from January 1, 2021.

The Export Control Joint Unit will be providing additional guidance at a later date.
