U.S. and EU Announce Joint Technology Competition Policy Dialogue

On December 7, 2021, in a joint statement, the U.S. Department of Justice and the European Commission announced the launch of the EU-U.S. Joint Technology Competition Policy Dialogue. According to the statement, the EU and U.S. “intend to collaborate to ensure and promote fair competition…[and coordinate] as much as possible on policy and enforcement.” The dialogue will also include efforts to improve knowledge sharing and information exchanges to address new challenges such as the role of large data, network effects, and interoperability.
