The Philippines Suspends Import Permits for Poultry from Certain U.S. States, Counties

On April 1, 2022, in a report, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) communicated that the Philippine Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI) is suspending import permits for live birds, poultry meat, and poultry meat products originating in certain states or counties due to confirmed detections of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI). The suspension applies to products from South Dakota, Missouri, and Iowa, as well as specific counties in Indiana, Kentucky, Delaware, Maryland, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Nebraska, New York, and North Carolina.
