On June 24, 2019, the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) imposed additional sanctions on Iran in order to implement the President’s Executive Order “Imposing Sanctions with Respect to Iran.”

The action adds several Iranian officials to OFAC’s Specially Designated Nationals (SDN) list. According to OFAC’s press release, “OFAC’s regulations generally prohibit all dealings by U.S. persons or within (or transiting) the United States that involve any property or interests in property of blocked or designated persons.”
