OFAC Amends Terrorism List Governments Sanctions Regulations

On May 20, 2021, in a final rule, the U.S. Department of Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) amended the Terrorism List Governments Sanctions Regulations to align with the December 2020 removal of Sudan’s designation as a State Sponsor of Terrorism.

The amendments “remove references to the Government of Sudan and Sudanese nationals in [31 CFR] § 596.505” and “remove [31 CFR] § 596.506” because there are no longer “licensing requirements on the export of agricultural commodities, medicine, or medical devices to Sudan.”
