Next COAC Meeting Scheduled for October 7, 2020

On September 21, 2020, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced in a Federal Register Notice (FRN) the upcoming meeting of the Commercial Operations Advisory Committee (COAC), to be held remotely via webinar on October 7, 2020.

According to the notice, the COAC meeting will include updates on the following working groups:

  • Intelligent Enforcement Subcommittee: Intellectual Property Rights, Anti-Dumping and Countervailing Duties (AD/CVD), Bond, and Forced Labor Working Groups;
  • The Secure Trade Lanes Subcommittee: Trusted Trader, Export Modernization, In-Bond, and Remote and Autonomous Cargo Processing Working Groups;
  • The Next Generation Facilitation Subcommittee: One U.S. Government, Unified Entry, and Emerging Technologies Working Groups; and
  • The Rapid Response Subcommittee: Broker Exam Modernization, and the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) Automotive Working Groups.

The COAC advises the Secretary of Homeland Security, the Secretary of the Treasury, and the Commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) on the commercial operations of CBP and other related Department functions.
