On November 12, 2019, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced in a Federal Register Notice (FRN) the upcoming meeting of the Commercial Operations Advisory Committee (COAC), held in Washington, D.C. on December 4, 2019. The meeting will be open to the public and will also be accessible via a live webinar.
According to the notice, the COAC meeting will include updates on the following working groups:
- The Next Generation Facilitation Subcommittee: One U.S. Government, Unified Entry Processes, Emerging Technologies, and E-Commerce Working Groups;
- The Secure Trade Lanes Subcommittee: Trusted Trader, Export Modernization, and Remote and Autonomous Cargo Processing Working Groups;
- The Rapid Response Subcommittee: Broker Continuing Education Taskforce;
- The Intelligent Enforcement Subcommittee: Intellectual Property Rights, Anti-Dumping and Countervailing Duties (AD/CVD), Bond, and Forced Labor Working Groups.
The COAC advises the Secretary of Homeland Security, the Secretary of the Treasury, and the Commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) on the commercial operations of CBP and other related Department functions.
