Mexico Publishes Countervailing Duty Administrative Review Results on Kids’ Bicycles Originating in China

On April 1, 2022, in the Diario Oficial, Mexico’s Ministry of Economy published the conclusion of the administrative review examining the validity of the countervailing duty imposed on imports of kids’ bicycles originating in China classified in statistical breakout 8712.00.05.  This resulted in the extension of the countervailing duty of $13.12 USD per piece for 5 years from December 22, 2020. Importers are not obligated to pay the countervailing duty if they provide evidence that demonstrates that the bicycles originate in a country other than China. The resolution entered into force the day following publication.
