As part of the implementation of the Sixth Amendment to the Harmonized System, the Ministry of Economy of Mexico published on July 1, 2020 in the Official Federal Gazette (DOF) the new General Import and Export Taxes Law (LIGIE), establishing as the entry into force date December 28, 2020.

In order to effectively implement the new LIGIE in the internal foreign trade legal framework, on December 24th, 26th, and 27th, a variety of amendments related to trade agreements and non-tariff barriers were announced in the Official Federal Gazette (DOF).

The entry into force date for these changes was December 28, 2020; however, certain HTS Codes specified in the content of the transitory provisions of some of the publications will become enforceable later.

The complete lists of changes with enforcement date information can be found in Spanish in the DOF for December 24th, 26th, and 27th.
