FDA Issues ITACS Messaging Clarification

On May 3, 2022, in Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS) #51784977, U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a clarification on the “No public status available” messaging in the Import Trade Auxiliary Communication System (ITACS). According to the CSMS, two scenarios will trigger this message:

  1. The local FDA office has not taken action on the line yet, and it’s still pending review; or
  2. For truck or air shipments if FDA has not received the electronic notification from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) that the cargo has arrived. The red text “FDA entry status information is not available pending receipt of Conveyance Arrival Notification” will also be displayed for this scenario.
