On June 20, 2023, in a Federal Register Notice (FRN), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) proposed significant new use rules (SNURs) under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) for 18 chemical substances that were subject to premanufacture notices (PMNs). This would require notifying the EPA at least 90 days before beginning any manufacturing or processing for the SNUR.
The affected chemicals include:
- Naphtha, heavy catalytic cracked (generic);
- Clarified oils, catalytic cracked (generic); and
- Gases, C4-rich (generic).
Comments will be accepted through July 20, 2023.
