Commerce Delays License Requirement for Aluminum Imports

On January 27, 2021, in a Federal Register Notice, the U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) announced the delay in the effective date for the requirement of a license from the Aluminum Import Monitoring and Analysis System (AIM) on certain imports of aluminum. The provision was initially effective January 25, 2021. The new effective date is March 29, 2021.

DOC is seeking additional comments on the rule until February 26, 2021.
