Colombia Implements Advanced Import Declaration Process

In a notice published on May 22, 2024, the Colombian Ministry of Revenue and Public Credit announced Decree 659, which implements an advanced declaration that must be filed before cargo arrives in Colombia. 

According to the Decree, importers will have up to 48 hours prior to cargo arrival to file either an advanced import declaration or an advanced entry declaration. Decree 659 became effective on June 7, 2024.
