CBP Updates Information Notice on UFLPA Region Alert

On January 27, 2023, in Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS) #54872860, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced the publication of an updated Information Notice on the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA) region alert enhancement that will be deployed to the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE).

The alert will “provide an early notification to importers and their representative of goods that may have been produced in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (Xinjiang or XUAR) and may be excluded from importation into the United States.” The Information Notice provides details on the new validations, required actions by trade users, and additional resources on UFLPA. The deployment date for the enhancement is March 18, 2023.
