CBP Requests Comments on Reporting New CF 7501 Data Elements

In a Federal Register Notice (FRN) scheduled for publication on April 19, 2023, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is seeking comments on adding new required data fields to Customs Form (CF) 7501. The new fields include:

  • Primary and secondary country of smelt for certain aluminum imports;
  • Country of cast for certain aluminum imports; and
  • Country of melt and country of pour for certain steel imports.

Comments can be submitted for 60 days, through June 18, 2023.
