CBP Publishes FY 2023 COBRA User Fee Changes

On August 1, 2022, in a Federal Register Notice (FRN), U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) published various changes to user fees within the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1985 (COBRA) for Fiscal Year (FY) 2023.

Included in these changes are the following:

  • The Merchandise Processing Fee (MPF) minimum and maximum for formal entries will change from $27.75 and $538.40 to $29.66 and $575.35 respectively.
  • The informal entry fee will increase to $2.37.
  • The manual entry or release surcharge will increase to $3.56.

The changes will be effective October 1, 2022.
