CBP Publishes Draft of Cargo Release CATAIR with New Entry Type 86 De Minimis

On March 21, 2019, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced the publication of a draft version of technical requirements for its new entry type 86 (Section 321) for shipments valued under $800.

Per Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS) #19-000145, the Cargo Release section of the CBP and Trade Automated Interface Requirements (CATAIR) has been updated with the new specifications for entry type 86, and will be available for testing in CBP’s certification environment in June of 2019.
