CBP Publishes Agricultural Quarantine and Inspection Fee Changes

On November 1, 2022, in conjunction with a press release from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA), U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) published Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS) # 53842300 highlighting the Agricultural Quarantine and Inspection (AQI) fee changes scheduled to enter into force on December 1, 2022. The AQI fees are amended to remove a reserve surcharge in accordance with a September 15, 2022, court ruling. The changes include:

  • The annual prepaid AQI fee for commercial trucks with transponders will change from $301.67 to $291.60.
  • The single crossing commercial truck AQI fee will change from $7.55 to $7.29.
