CBP Provides Reminder for Bill Timelines

On August 14, 2017 U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) issued Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS) #17-000489 advising bills received from CBP for supplemental duties, taxes and fees, or duties for vessel repair must be paid within 30 days form the bill date.

According to the notice, “If a bill remains unpaid, any balance will be considered delinquent and accrues interest until payment is made in full.  All supplemental bills will reference the entry number used to import your goods.”

To avoid any delays in receiving a bill from CBP, verify that the correct addresses are listed with CBP.
