CBP Posts Quota Bulletins Detailing Requirements for Solar Cells and Washing Machines

On February 1, 2018, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) posted Quota Bulletins regarding the requirements for solar cells and washing machines.

The Quota Bulletins include detailed information about the following:

  • Large Residential Washers - annual aggregate quantity of 1.2 million units
  • Solar Cells - annual aggregate quantity of 2.5 gigawatts
  • Solar Cells require the importer to report total wattage under the tariff classification 8541.40.6030.

The initial quotas will go into effect on February 7, 2018 and are valid for one year.
