On May 14, 2018, U.S. Customs and Border Protection announced the absolute quota quarter year limits for South Korean steel mill products in Cargo Services Messaging Service (CSMS) #18-000342 and Quota Bulletin 18-119 2018.

Following the April 30, 2018 Presidential Proclamation under the Section 232 tariffs on steel, imports of steel mill products from South Korea became subject to Absolute Quotas entered for consumption or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption on or after 12:01 a.m. eastern daylight time on May 1, 2018. Once the quota limit is reached for a given quota period, merchandise may not be imported into the U.S., and must instead be exported, destroyed, warehoused, or sent to a Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) until the next quota period opens.
