CBP Postpones Enforcement Dates for In-Bond and ISF-5

On January 18, 2019, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced the postponement of the enforcement dates for both the in-bond regulations and Importer Security Filing (ISF-5) in Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS) #19-000011.

According to the CSMS, CBP postponed the February 6, 2019 enforcement date for the in-bond regulations due to the government funding hiatus and will establish a new enforcement date after full operations resume. In addition, CBP is suspending enforcement of ISF-5 filings. CBP had originally planned to begin issuing liquidated damages for ISF-5 violations on January 21, 2019.

CBP will issue additional guidance following the end of the current funding lapse.
