On September 19, 2023, in a press release, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced the modification of its Withhold Release Order against “Supermax Corporation Bhd. and its wholly owned subsidiaries (Supermax Glove Manufacturing, Maxter Glove Manufacturing Sdn. Bhd., and Maxwell Glove Manufacturing Bhd.).” Effective immediately, CBP “will allow imports of disposable gloves manufactured by Supermax Corporation Bhd. and its wholly owned subsidiaries to enter the U.S., provided they are otherwise in compliance with U.S. laws.” According to the press release, the modification is based on evidence that Supermax’s products are no longer produced using forced labor.
