In a Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS) bulletin published on June 12, 2026, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBO) announced the release of “Forced Labor Enforcement Operational Guidance for Importers” document.

The new guidance provides a “consolidated overview” of 19 U.S.C 1307, Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA), Countering America’s Adversaries Through Sanctions Act (CAATSA), which are the 3 authorities that CBP uses to prevent goods produced with forced labor enter into the United States.

CBP highly encourages importers to “review this new guidance and conduct due diligence of their suppliers prior to importing goods.”
