CBP Issues Withhold Release Orders against Certain Malaysian Disposable Gloves, Mexican Tomatoes

On October 20-21, 2021, in two press releases, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) issued a Withhold Release Order (WRO) against “disposable gloves produced by Supermax Corporation Bhd.’s wholly-owned subsidiaries, Maxter Glove Manufacturing Sdn. Bhd., Maxwell Glove Manufacturing Bhd., and Supermax Glove Manufacturing;” as well as a WRO against fresh tomatoes produced by “tomato farm Agropecuarios Tom S.A. de C.V., and Horticola S.A. de C.V. and their subsidiaries.”

The WROs were issued for forced labor concerns.

CBP will detain these products at all U.S. ports of entry effective immediately.
