CBP Issues Withhold Release Order against Certain Silica-Based Products

On June 24, 2021, in a press release, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) issued a Withhold Release Order (WRO) against silica-based products produced by Hoshine Silicon Industry Co., Ltd., a company in China’s Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, for forced labor concerns.

The WRO affects shipments containing silica-based products from Hoshine as well as materials and goods that contain those products.

CBP will detain these products at all U.S. ports of entry effective immediately.
