CBP Issues Updated Guidance for Section 232 Approved Product Exclusions

On February 7, 2023, in Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS) #55014059, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) issued updated guidance on the processing of approved Section 232 product exclusions. Previously, importers were required to provide information via email to CBP to activate an approved Section 232 exclusion in the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE). Importers are no longer required to provide this information, and CBP will directly process approved exclusions based on weekly lists from the Department of Commerce. The exclusions will be activated on a weekly basis.
