CBP Issues Guidance on Sections 232 and 301

On August 13, 2020, in Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS) #43654621, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) issued guidance on the additional duty under Section 232 on certain aluminum products from Canada. The 10% ad valorem duty is effective from August 16, 2020, and it should be claimed under 9903.85.21.

On August 13, 2020, in CSMS #43656381, CBP issued guidance on the Section 301 List 4A Round 9 exclusions announced in Federal Register Notice (FRN) 85 FR 48627. These exclusions are retroactive to September 1, 2019, and will extend through September 1, 2020. They can be claimed under 9903.88.55.

On August 17, 2020, in CSMS #43687570, CBP issued guidance on the extensions of product exclusions from Section 301 List 3 announced in 85 FR 48600. The extensions are effective from August 7, 2020, through December 31, 2020. They can be claimed under 9903.88.56.
