On September 1, 2021, in Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS) #49246661, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) issued guidance on operations with interruptions and impacts from Hurricane Ida. According to the CSMS, the port of Morgan City is closed, and other ports are operating with limited power, fuel, and personnel. Local questions should be directed to the port for the most up-to-date information. CBP also provided guidance on managing diversions, in-bonds, exports, and post release payments.
