CBP Issues Changes to the Interim Guidance for Filing TFTEA Drawback Claims

On March 26, 2018, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) issued changes to the Interim Guidance for Filing TFTEA Drawback Claims.

The changes listed include:

  • Update to “Important Legal Notes” to provide guidance on resources available for claims to be accepted;
  • Changes to the Mixed Claims Policy outlining required documentation;
  • Clarification on CBP’s First-Filer Rule Policy.

According to CBP, the guidance document is for reference purposes only, is in draft, and reflects CBP’s framework for drawback pending the final regulatory changes.
