CBP Extends Global Business Identifier Evaluative Proof of Concept

On August 14, 2023, in Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS) #57322357, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced the extension of the Global Business Identifier (GBI) Initiative Evaluative Proof of Concept (EPoC) within the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE). According to the CSMS, the GBI Initiative “seeks to enhance trade facilitation and trade security by testing and developing a unified business identifier solution to achieve better visibility into global supply chains.” The test period is extended through February 14, 2024.
