CBP Delays Enforcement of Updated In-Bond Regulations

On November 22, 2017, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) issued Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS) #17-000736 announcing CBP's delayed enforcement of the updated in-bond regulations set to take effect on November 27, 2017.

Although the regulatory enforcement is delayed, CBP states the implementation will occur as scheduled and “the trade community should continue to make every effort to ensure all in-bonds are submitted electronically from that date…”.

The trade community will be informed on the enforcement strategy once decisions are finalized.
