CBP Announces Section 232 Quota Period 2

On March 24, 2021, in Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS) #46747498, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced the second quota period for steel mill articles under Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962 for the 2021 quota year.

Period 2 begins on April 1, 2021, at 8:30 am EST. All entries submitted prior to 8:30 am EST will be counted in the first opening. Entries will be prorated if the totals exceed the quota limit. Entries submitted prior to April 1, 2021, will not be counted towards the opening. The quota period extends through June 30, 2021.

CBP also reminds the trade that all entries for General Approved Exclusions (GAE) must utilize 9903.80.60. The list of GAEs can be found in the Quota Bulletin.
