CBP Announces PSC Requirements for Temporary Importation Bonds (TIB)

On June 9, 2017 U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) released Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS) #17-000338 providing clarification on the filing of Post Summary Corrections (PSC) for Temporary Importation Bonds (TIB) (Entry Type 23).

The CSMS advises that PSCs may be completed on TIB entries to change various data elements. However, according to the notice, “a PSC may not change a TIB entry to another entry type, nor can a PSC change a non TIB entry to a TIB entry.”

Additional information regarding TIB and PSC requirements will be released through a federal register notice in the coming months.
