CBP Announces Changes for Individual Brokerage License Applications

Posted by Timothy Miller on 11/12/25 5:00 PM

In a Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS) bulletin published on November 10, 2025, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced that they were automating the submission of individual broker license applications.

Applicants will now log into the eCBP portal using the same login.gov account they used to apply for the Customs Broker License Exam. All applications, documents, and associated fees will be submitted through the eCBP portal. This change will not affect the organizational license application process.

Applications will be accepted only in the eCBP portal starting on November 14, 2025.
