CBP Announces Additional Port Closures in Texas

On August 29, 2017 U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced Cargo System Messaging Service (CSMS) #17-000522 announcing multiple port closures for August 30 – September 1, 2017 due to Hurricane Harvey.

The below Texas ports will be temporarily suspended until at least September 1, 2017:

  • Port Arthur – 2101
  • Houston Seaport - 5301
  • Houston Airport – 5309
  • Galveston – 5310
  • Freeport – 5311

According to the CSMS, “CBP is extending an additional day, without penalty, for any entry summaries and payment of duties that will be due on August 30, 2017-September 1, 2017” for these ports.
