CBP Announces ACE Filing Dates for Duty Deferral, Drawback, and Entry Summary Filings

In a Federal Register Notice (FRN) to be published on June 8, 2017 U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will announce an update to the previously issued FRN, which indefinitely delayed the release of the fifth phase of the ACE transition. The FRN will advise that beginning July 8, 2017 Duty Deferral, Drawback, and Entry Summary Filings will be required in ACE. 

According to the notice, “At that time, ACE will become the sole CBP-authorized EDI system for electronic drawback and duty deferral entry and entry summary filings, and ACS will no longer be a CBP-authorized EDI system for purposes of processing these electronic filings.”

The effective date for electronic drawback, duty deferral, and entry summary filings will be July 8, 2017.
