In a press release on November 12, 2024, the Bureau of Industry and Security announced the publication of an updated version of its Don’t Let This Happen to You! guidance document.

This guidance is a compendium of example cases that highlight “BIS criminal and administrative enforcement efforts” and provides examples of the export conduct violations.

This updated version includes new case examples that review violations of antiboycott regulations, unauthorized shipments to a party on the entity list, the smuggling of export-controlled items and the first Disruptive Technology Strike Force case that resulted in a stand-alone administrative penalty.
